Swan-Maidens

Valkyries were often called Swan-Maidens. It isn't really clear if Valkyries and Swan-Maidens are the same, but if not they are at least very similar.

Swan-Maidens could change themselves into swans and were able to fly.

The three Swan-Maidens, known for the Völundarkvitha, named Hervor (Alvit), Hladgud (Svanhvit) and Olrun, they were beautiful young midens, with their garments with swan feathers they had the ability to fly and change themselves into a swan.
