Skogul

Skogul or Skögul ("Raging" or "Shaker") was a Valkyrie, sent by Odin, to choose the fallen warriors and bring them to Valhalla.

Accordind to Snorri she brang Odin the horn, filled with Mead.

She was one of the choosers of the kings of the House of Yngling (Hakonarmol).

There was another Valkyrie, Geirskogul ("Skogul's Spear" or "Raging Spear"). Some say she was the same one as Skogul, but in the Poetic Edda both of them appear.

- borð Sköglar ("Board of Skögul") = Shield
- dynr Sköglar ("Din of Skögul") = Battle
- eldr Sköglar ("Fire of Skögul") = Sword
- gagl Sköglar ("Gosling of Skögul") = Raven
- kápa Sköglar ("Cape of Skögul") = Byrnie
