Sindri

Sindri was a dwarf, son of Ivaldi and brother of Brokk.
Once Loki cut off the golden hair of Thor’s wife Sif. When Thor learned of that he wanted to brake every bone in Loki’s body, if the latter didn’t manage to bring back Sif’s hair.

Loki went to the smith brothers Brokk and Sindri and plead them to fashion golden hair for Sif. They made beautiful golden hair for Sif, which they chanted with magic spells, in this way it could grow on her head like natural hair. Ivaldi’s sons created also Freyr’s ship Skidbladnir and Odin’s spear Gungnir.

Then Loki wagered his head with Brokk that Sindri could not fashion three other treasures like the first three.
Sindri made the ring Draupnir for Odin and Freyr’s golden boar Gullinbursti. But when they made the hammer Mjöllnir Brokk let the bellows go ('couse Loki, in the form of a fly, settled between his eyes and stung his eyelid) and the hammer got a very short shank.

When the dwarves finished their works Brokk went to Asgard where he presented the treasures. The gods decided that Brokk won the wager. But instead of killing Loki he stitched Loki’s lips together.
