Nauthiz

The Futhark was a germanic alphabet: It's runes had names and were associated with gods or other mythological things.

The rune "Nauthiz" (Naudhit or Nyd) belongs to "Heimdall's Aett". Nauthiz was the rune of destiny, dedicated to the norns, time, destiny, self-reliance, necessity, resistence and need.

Icelandic:

"Ölrúnar skaltu kunna,
ef þú vill annars kvæn
véli-t þik í tryggð, ef þú trúir;
á horni skal þær rista

English:

"Ale-runes learn,
that with lies the wife
Of another betray not thy trust;
On the horn thou shalt write,
and the backs of thy hands,
