Kvasir

Kvasir, the wise, was a god made out of the saliva of the gods.
After the Aesir-Vanir-War, the Aesir and the Vanir mixed their saliva in a couldron and created, as a symbol for the upcomming peace, a wise creature called Kvasir.

This, wisest of the gods belonged to the race of the fertility-deities (Vanir). He travelled across the land and teached his wisdom to others, since he came to the dwarven brothers, Fjalar and Gjalar. They invited and later killed him. Then they mixed his blood with honey, creating the poetic mead.
The mead was stored in two vats, called Bodn and Son, and a pot called Odrörir.
