Hrimthursar

Hrimthursar ("Rime-Giants") was the primal race of giants. The first of them was the giant Ymir. When the gods, Odin, Ve and Vili killed the primal giant, his floating blood coused a great tide and the Hrimthursar were drowned, except Ymir's grandson Bergelmir and his wife.

After the death of his grandfather, Bergelmir and his wife lived in Jötunheim and became the ancestors of the Jötun (Frost-Giants).

The Hrimthursar were:
- Aurgelmir/Ymir
- Thrudgelmir
- Bergelmir and his wife
- Fornjotr
