Himinglaeva

According to Snorri, Himinglaeva was the daughter of Aegir and Ran and by Odin one of Heimdall's mothers.

Her name means something like "That through which one can see the heaven". The exact translation is: 'Himin = 'Heaven', 'Glaer' = 'Clear'.

"Himinglæva sternly stirreth,
And fiercely, the sea's wailing."
