Gjallarbru

Gjallarbru = "Shrieking Bridge"

Gjöll was one of the Elivagar's streams, floating out the well Hvergelmir. The deceased must cross the river, to come to Helheim. The only passage through the river was Gjöll's Bridge, Gjallarbru, which was guarded by a maiden (giantess?) called Modgudr.
