Gimle

In the Poetic Edda Gimle was the name of a mountain or something like that. On that mountain(?) stood golden-roofed hall, fairer than the sun. This hall appeared after the destruction and rebirth of the world.

Snorri quoted Gimle as the name of the hall itself and wrote that it stood at the southern end of heaven.

Old Norse: Gimlé
Meaning: Either dative of Himill = Heaven (?) (Cl.-Vig.), or Gem-decked
