Eldir was Aegir’s servant and cook. Eldir and Fimafeng lived in Aegir’s hall and served his guests.
When Loki killed Fimafeng, the gods drove him out to a forest, but he returned and met Eldir outside the hall. They had a short dialogue and then Loki entered Aegir’s hall.
The name Eldir was also used in a kenning for ‘Giant’.
Old Norse: Eldir
Meaning: “Fire-Kindler”
