Bergelmir |
Bergelmir ("The Old One From The Mountains"?) was the son of Thruthgelmir and grandson of Aurgelmir (= Ymir). When the gods killed Ymir, his floating blood coused a tide and all the Rime-Giants died. The only two giants, who could escape were Bergelmir and his wife (in a boat). Bergelmir and his wife survived and went to Jötunheim, where they became the ancestors of a new race of giants, the Jötun (Frost-Giants).
