Bari

Bari = "The Leafy"

There were three characters named Bari in the Poetic Edda:
1. a dwarf
2. a Berserker
3. a forest

1.
Bari was a dwarf.
With the aid of the nine dwarfs (Uni, Iri, Bari, Jari, Var, Vegdrasil, Dori, Ori, Delling), Loki builded the hall Lyr ("Heat-Holding").

Poetic Edda: Svipdagsmol - The Ballad of Svipdag (Fjolminnsmol - The Lay of Fjolswith)

2.
Bari (or Barri) was a Berserker ("bear-shirt"), son of Arngrim and Eyfura. He was born in Bolm.

He was one of the Berserkers listed in the Poetic Edda: Hyndluljoth - The Poem of Hyndla

3.
Bari was the forest where Freyr and Gerdr married.
(Skirnismol)
" Barri there is, | which we both know well,
A forest fair and still;
And nine nights hence | to the son of Njorth
Will Gerth there grant delight."

Poetic Edda: Skirnismol: The Ballad of Skirni
