Alaisiagae |
The Alaisiagae were Roman-British-Germanic-Frisian war-goddesses. A votive altar at Vercovicium (Housesteads) near Hadrian‘s Wall, Cumbria c.150 CE is dedicated to “Deo Marti Thingso et dualbus Alaesiagis Bede et Fimmileve”. The names of the Alaisiagae were: Beda, Baudihille, Fimmilena, and Friagabis. The Alaisiagae were very similar to the Nordic Valkyries and the trinity-aspects of the Celtic war goddess Morrigan (Nemain, Macha and Badb).
Proto-Celtic: Ad-lâjsîjâ-agai
