Aesir-Vanir-War

The first war was that, between the Aesir and the Vanir.
It all begann with Gullveig's visit at Asgard. The gods wanted to know the secret, how to get more gold, they tortured and burned Gullveig three times, but she don't telled them her secrets.
The Vanir, angry of what the gods made with one of them, then began the war. The war lasted for 10 years.

"The war I remember, | the first in the world,
When the gods with spears | had smitten Gollveig,
And in the hall | of Hor had burned her,
Three times burned, | and three times born,
Oft and again, | yet ever she lives."

At the end of the war, the Vanir sent Njörd, Freyr and Freyja to Asgard and the Aesir sent Hönir and Mimir to Vanaheim.

But the Vanir enheaded Mimir and sent the head of the god back to the gods.

After the Aesir-Vanir-War, the Aesir and the Vanir mixed their saliva in a couldron and created, as a symbol for the upcomming peace, a wise creature called Kvasir.
