"On Lanes"

On lanes
where I caused
ends to end
before life’s unending flood

on an eyelash of cloud
I sat
wonderin‘ `bout beings and things

below flew, ran, dived and swam
your million-faced love
in her play

time‘s grey-footed mansions
expectant stood silent
excluding the colourful day

but earth breaks free
each cage shattered marks
her victorious heavenward way

So let my song end
with the words
that she whispered:
„I know, one day we’ll be free.“
